The Cabinet of Ministry of Ukraine established a 50% discount on the rate of port charges for transit cargo passing through the Ukrainian ports.
The Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Omelian, the agency has developed a draft government order to improve the tariff policy seaports.
“High level of rates of port dues in the seaports of Ukraine did not allow the most efficient use of transit potential of seaports. Therefore, the draft act proposes to reduce by 50% rates of port dues for vessels carrying transit cargo, in addition to administrative, on a regular basis “, – said Omelian.
The minister said granting such discounts will facilitate loading port facilities which have significant reserves and attract transit cargoes, except for businesses of marine economy, ensure the development of cargo base ground carriers will increase revenues to the state budget.
Earlier this discount was given for a limited period.
