Global demand for Ukrainian wheat growing.
Following July-March 2015/16 MG Ukraine exported 12.9 million tons of wheat, which has an absolute-season record and a 34% increase over the same period of the previous MY (9.6 mln.tons).
It should be noted that Ukrainian grain is a significant share in the procurement of the countries included in the top 10 world importers.
In particular, in Egypt, which is the world leader in wheat imports in July-March 2015/16 MG exported 1.6 mln.tons of Ukrainian grain, which accounted for 14% of the projected USDA experts, the volume of deliveries in the country (11 million tons). In this case on the basis of 2014/15 MG Ukraine provided 22% of the Egyptian wheat imports, or 2.5 mln. tons in absolute terms.
It is worth noting that in the current season and significantly increased supply of Ukrainian wheat to Indonesia, the EU and South Korea. So, for the first 9 months of the season in Indonesia it exported more than 1 mln.tons of Ukrainian grain, which accounted for 13% of the total projected imports (8.1 mln.tons). Deliveries in the EU-28 increased to 1.7 mln.tons (versus 1.5 mln.tons in 2014/15 MG), which is 28% of projected imports by the end of 2015/16 MY (6.3 mln.tons) . Also during this period 23% of the projected import of wheat to South Korea (4.5 mln.tons) provided by Ukrainian grain (1 million tons in absolute terms).
