Today in Ukraine there are 119 manufacturers of crop production with a status of “organic” (including fruits, vegetables) of which 73 are already working for export (40 exporting producers themselves, the rest – through traders). This was stated by Director of the certification body “Organic Standard” Sergei Galashevsky.
The expert believes that this year the number of customers increased by approximately 80% last year’s growth was also about 80% from the 2014 Under the control of the company to date, there are 370 operators of the market, of which 341 in Ukraine.

“This year, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, even including organic production in the top 5 priorities for the development of agriculture Ukraine. Manufacturers who work in this sector show good results, including economic. The main cause of organic production growth this year, I think it is a reorientation of the European market. Since last year, people just started to rebuild in a new direction, “- said Sergey Galashevsky.
The specialist said that the area under organic production, located in the enjoyment of our clients in Ukraine is about 180 thousand hectares of organic status it has 137 thousand hectares.(The rest – in the transition period).
“Grown in the area of culture the same as in traditional agriculture. However, in the organic production of niche crops longer. Ukraine is the largest supplier of organic wheat to the EU market. It is also noted demand for Ukrainian organic mustard seeds, flax, pumpkin, hemp. Our customers are located throughout Ukraine. Most of them in Vinnitsa, Poltava, Odessa and Kharkiv regions. Sergey Galashevsky believes that the production of organically friendly products will be developed, and by 2025 10% of agricultural land in Ukraine will be engaged under organic production.
