During the five years of the program to support small and medium-sized businesses The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has provided more than 310 Ukrainian entrepreneurs grants totaling about 2 million euro said the manager of the Group to support small businesses in Ukraine EBRD E. Rigg.  «Every year the demand for consulting services in Ukraine increases and consequently  a growing number of applications for grants entrepreneurs EBRD for partial compensation of the cost of consultants. In 2010 we provided 40 grants, in 2011 – 60, in 2012 – 73, in 2013 – 76, and this year, just nine months – 65. And to the end of the year we plan to provide grant support for several dozen more companies applications will be accepted – says E. Rigg funding provided by the European Union». According to her,  most of this year, small and medium businesses apply for grants for partial compensation consulting services in the field of quality management standards.

High demand is for consultancy in areas such as information and communication technology, marketing, strategy, organizational and operational development, accounting and financial records as well as engineering solutions. As part of the grant support of EBRD helps SMBs to attract highly qualified consultants to qualitatively transform their business and provides grants for partial compensation consultants. E.Rigg stressed that for grant support were more likely to treat small businesses that are located in small towns.  «This year, 74% of the grant projects implemented at facilities located in small towns, especially in areas such as Lviv, Vinnitsa, Odessa, Kharkiv. While previously the demand for consulting services was mainly observed in the capital and large industrial cities such as Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk », – says the manager of a small business Support Groups EBRD in Ukraine. According to her the most active enterprises in the food industry (28% of grant projects), wholesale and retail trade (18%), health and electronics (9%).
