Ukraine in the top ten world steel producers.
Ukraine in July increased steel production by 10.5% compared to July of last year – to 2.07 million tons, maintaining the 10th place in the list of the world’s manufacturers of these products. This is stated in the message of the international think tank World Steel Association (Worldsteel).
At the same time, for 7 months of 2016 Ukraine produced 14.48 million tons of steel, which is 10.3% more than the same period last year.
According to the association, in general, in July 2016 the world production of steel, compared with July last year, increased by 1.4% and amounted to 133.74 million tons.
Rating manufacturers traditionally headed by China, which by the end of July produced 66.81 million tons of steel, which is 2.6% more than the same period last year.
In the CIS area production rose by 2.8%, while in North America and the Middle East fell by 0.4% and 1.4% respectively. In Asia, steel production decreased by 0.3% in the EU countries for 7 months in 2016 – by 5.8%. Most of all steel production fell in South America – by 13.3%.
