Ukraine will receive an additional 250 million macro-financial assistance in the framework of the existing programs of the European Union in April.
This is stated in the report on Ukraine, released by the European Commission in the framework of the report on the European Neighborhood Policy.
Ukraine has received 1.36 billion euro macro-loan in 2014 and should receive an additional 250 million euro in April 2015 provided that «should be undertaken by the IMF and must be met political conditions,» – said in a report.
The report notes that in 2014, EU funding instruments under the European Neighborhood Policy was 365 million euro which is the largest sum ever allocated Ukraine.
«This is a response to the urgent need for stabilization of the Ukrainian economy, with the main contract to build a State to address the short-term economic challenges and prepare for reform in the context of political association and economic integration with the EU», – the document says.
The Commission notes that in the light of unfolding events was difficult to determine in advance the focus of EU aid for several years. «That is why today the EU assistance is provided in the form of an annual special measures» – says the European Commission.
«All together measures in the coming years could lead to general support in the amount of at least 11 billion euro from the EU budget and the European international financial institutions,» – said the European Commission.
In addition, the report recalls that the European Parliament and the European Council to discuss the Commission’s proposal to provide Ukraine in 2015-2016 an additional 1.8 billion euro of aid.
