Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yasumasa Nagamine assured Japan’s readiness to further support Ukraine fully including by consolidating the efforts of the international community.
Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Valeriy Chaliy during a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yasumasa Nagamine thanked the Japanese side for the large-scale financial assistance to Ukraine, in particular the allocation of $ 1.5 billion in credit assistance to a number of projects in support of development.
As the press service of the President, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration also welcomed the decision of the Japanese government on the allocation of Ukraine further assistance in the amount of $ 316.6 million for the stabilization of the national economy and to support the reforms.
In addition, the sides noted the importance of further development of bilateral relations and discussed the state of implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level. In this context, the importance of the completion of countries internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement between Ukraine and Japan on the promotion and protection of investments on February 5, 2015.
Also, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration expressed gratitude to Japan for its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He noted that Japan’s position is very important, especially on the eve of the Group of Seven summit, which will take place 7 – 8 June in Germany.
