President of Ukraine signed the Law “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2017”

According to the presidential press service on Monday, P.Poroshenko also signed laws “On increasing spending on wages to employees of state coal mining enterprises”, “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine” with respect to an increase in the minimum wage to UAH 3,200, “On Amending the Budget Code.”
The head of state stressed that the government of Ukraine in the current year submitted a draft state budget to the Verkhovna Rada.
Petr Poroshenko reminded that the budget was discussed in detail and in detail at the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in terms of spending on the defense and security sector of the country. He also stressed that these expenses make up 5.2% of GDP, and noted that first of all “these expenses are concentrated on financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
The head of state also noted that the government, the president, the prime minister and the parliament jointly took revolutionary steps unprecedented in strengthening the protection of working people: a minimum wage of up to UAH 3,200 has been raised.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the budget for 2017 on the night of December 21, 2016. The bill was supported by 274 people’s deputies.
As Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman noted, the Cabinet closely cooperated with the parliament in preparing the state budget.
