Ukraine and Iran have signed a memorandum on strengthening economic cooperation.
The Memorandum notes the need for further development of economic relations in the areas of agriculture, investment, banking and financial spheres, cooperation in industries and mining. A separate item in question on the strengthening of cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, cultural and artistic activities, tourism, higher education, health and sports.
Ukraine and Iran on March 7 signed a memorandum on enhancing cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian and social spheres.
The memorandum notes the need for further development of economic relations in the areas of agriculture, investment, banking and financial spheres, cooperation in industries and mining. Also, it is to intensify efforts in the oil, gas, petrochemical, nuclear and hydro energy, energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors. A separate item also deals with the strengthening of cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, cultural and artistic activities, tourism, higher education, health and sports.
Thus, the document provides for cooperation in the field of:
– agriculture: the parties have expressed their interest in expanding and increasing trade in the agricultural sector.
– aircraft and the aviation industry: It is about strengthening cooperation in the field of civil aviation, in particular the design and production of new modifications of aircraft An-140-100 transport shipments of civilian non-military aircraft AN-178, as well as the cooperation between the companies of the two countries in the field of marketing and sales of passenger aircraft An-158 in Iran and in the region.
– energy: The sides agreed to intensify the work on a number of priority areas, in particular, the modernization of the refinery worn Ukraine’s participation in oil and gas projects in Iran, the scientific and practical cooperation on improving nuclear safety in the framework of the IAEA and the World Association of Nuclear Operators.
“We offered Iran to attract investment in the forest industry of Ukraine and cooperate in the field of fisheries, to establish joint ventures for the breeding and cultivation of sturgeon, salmon and other species of fish”, – said Deputy Prime Minister Gennadiy Zubko.
The memorandum also says about the prospects of cooperation in the supply of light Iranian oil to Europe via Odessa.
In addition, the parties agreed that in the first half of 2016 in Kiev will be held the 4th meeting of the Committee on the issues of trade regimes between Ukraine and Iran.
“Ukraine has invited Iranian investors to participate in the privatization of Ukrainian enterprises We have agreed to establish a joint committee on investments for the development of various forms of investment cooperation, including public-private partnerships.” – added Zubko.
Recall the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said that the Iranian market is promising for the promotion of Ukrainian goods.
