European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has decided to grant loan of 37 million dollars to build the terminal at the port “Yuzhny”.
The total investment in the project to build a grain terminal is 130 million dollars. In addition to the international financial institutions, the project active participation of US private company “Cargill” and Ukrainian “M.V. Cargo” and our government. “Cargill” will be in the construction of a grain terminal 51%.
Exports of grain in the 2015/2016 marketing period set a record – nearly 40 million tons.
This project Ukraine will take vessels carrying up to 100 thousand tons. This will significantly increase the export of Ukrainian grain. Time will decrease coming in unloading cars and load vehicles as terminal equipped with modern facilities.
It is predicted that as a result of the launch of the project will create 350 new jobs. Income taxes to the treasury will be about 300 million each year. Port charges amount to more than $ 10 million. According to expert, complete construction is scheduled for spring 2018. The expected capacity after the start of the first stage – 5 million tons of grain, the other – 2 – 4 million tons.
