EBRD has invested 1 billion euros in projects in Ukraine in 2015.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has invested EUR 1 billion in projects in Ukraine in 2015, the EBRD said in a statement.

In 2015 the Bank approved 30 projects in Ukraine on this amount (1 billion euros).

The Bank considers this significant result, which was achieved despite the difficult macroeconomic conditions, which persisted throughout the year.

The amount of funding in the sector of financial institutions amounted to 387 million euros, including 100 million euros – in the framework of trade promotion, energy – 283 million euros in agriculture – 184 million euros in the manufacturing sector and services was allocated 87 million euros, infrastructure sector – 56 million euros.

Significant resources were also allocated to support initiatives to reform the public enterprise sector and the privatization process in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

The EBRD is the largest international financial investor in Ukraine.

As of January 1, 2016 the bank has committed to allocate a total of about 12 billion euros in 355 projects.

The total volume of EBRD investments for all countries in 2015 increased to a record level of 9.4 billion euros, while in 2014 amounted to 8.9 billion euros.

As reported, in 2014 the EBRD has invested in Ukraine, a record amount for the whole period of cooperation with the country – more than 1.2 billion euros in 36 projects in the public and private sectors.
