Japan will give Ukraine a loan guarantee for $ 1.5 billion.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko thanked the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe for the provision of loan guarantees in the amount of $ 1.5 billion.
“I am grateful to Japan for the provision of loan guarantees of 1.5 billion US dollars which will allow us to ensure financial stability in Ukraine,” – said Poroshenko after talks with Prime Minister of Japan.
As reported, in May, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Valeriy Chaliy held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yasumasa Nagamine during which the parties discussed the provision of financial assistance to Ukraine.
“V.Chaliy thanked the Japanese side for the large-scale financial assistance to Ukraine, in particular the allocation of $ 1.5 billion in credit assistance to a number of projects in support of development. The Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine also positively noted the decision of the Japanese government on the allocation of Ukraine further assistance in the amount of $ 316, 6 million for the stabilization of the national economy and to support reforms “, – reported the press service of the President of Ukraine.
