Plant products this year will bring Ukraine about 178.7 billion UAH.
Gross crop this year will bring about 178.7 billion UAH – which is 6.1% more than last year. It is expected to increase production of the vast majority of cultures.
This was stated by Director of National Scientific Centre “Institute of agrarian economy” Yuriy Lupenko.
Production of grain and leguminous crops this year is forecast at 64.2 million tonnes, ie 6.9% more than last year. Increased production will increase productivity by 9.1%.
According Lupenko, wheat this year, almost equal to last year – 26.7 million tons (+ 0.7%). Reduced acreage under this crop of 9.5% was offset by an increase in yield of 11.3%.
The Academician said that due to increased yield by 15.4% barley production increased to 9.7 million tons (+ 17.3%). Production of maize to be expected at 25.4 million tonnes, 8.8% more than in 2015.
In addition, by increasing the yield of 10.1 c/ha to 13.2 c/ha (+ 31.9%) more than one-third increase production of buckwheat.
Almost twice increased production of peas – to 773.5 thousand tons (+ 95.5%).
