In the first quarter of 2017, exports of goods exceeded $ 10.37 billion, and imports – $ 11.1 billion. Compared with the same period last year, Ukrainian entrepreneurs increased exports by 34.4%, and imports by 27.3%.
This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Service.
Among the key partner countries of Ukraine in foreign trade, entrepreneurs increased the supply of goods to India (90.6%), Belarus (60.4%), Russia (43.8%), Turkey (40.3%), Italy (38.3%), Poland (35%), Egypt (29.9%), Hungary (16.9%), the Netherlands (11.9%), Spain (10.6%), Germany (6%) . However, sales of products to China declined by 37.9%.
In general, exports of goods to the European Union increased by 24.5% in the first quarter, and by 41.4% in the CIS; Import from the EU grew by 19.2%, and from the CIS – by 39.9%.
Ukrainian entrepreneurs in the first quarter increased the supply of mineral products abroad, including fuel, oil and distillate products (by 88.9%), metals and articles thereof (by 42.2%), oils and fats (by 35.6% %), Cereals (by 23.2%), equipment (by 16.6%).
In addition, according to the State Statistics Committee, Ukraine’s GDP in the first quarter in comparison with the previous year decreased by 0.3%, and in comparison with the first quarter of 2016 it grew by 2.4%.
