The Cabinet of Ministry of Ukraine has registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the abolition of the import levy on 1 January 2016.
The Cabinet of Ministery has developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill №3533, providing for the abolition of additional import duties to 1 January 2016.
The bill registered in the parliament on November 26.
The project involves the Annulment of the Law “On measures to stabilize the balance of payments.”
This law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of December 28, 2014 and introduced additional import tax for a period of 12 months. However, the law came into force only February 25, 2015, so its action is completed at the end of February 2016.
November 24 the Verkhovna Rada considered the bill filed by a group of deputies of the early abolition of the additional import charges, but he did not received the required number of votes.
As reported, the imported collection was introduced February 25, 2015 due to a sharp deterioration in the balance of payments imposed an additional import duty on imports, except for critical.
Additional import duties at the rate of 10% levied on prepared foods; products, fats and oils of animal and vegetable origin; alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes; vinegar; live animals.
Under the 5% charge is subject to all other goods except for “vital” to which the Parliament took the majority of energy resources, as well as some medications.
