The EU intends to transfer the first tranche of Ukraine until the summer.
The European Commission is set up in a few weeks to complete negotiations on the allocation of 1.8 billion euro.
The EU completed the procedure of formal approval of the new macro-financial assistance programs Ukraine in the amount of 1.8 billion euro.
According to the press service, the decision signed by the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and the Parliamentary Secretary of State for European Affairs Zanda Kalnina-Lukashevich.
«The EU and Ukraine now have to agree on a Memorandum of understanding. The Commission hopes to complete this process in the coming weeks in order to pay for the first tranche in the amount of EUR 600 million before the summer,» – said in a statement.
The new aid program proposed by the European Commission on January 8 will be the third program for Ukraine.
Macro-financial assistance will be provided in three tranches: the first two will be paid before the end of 2015, the third – in early 2016.
