The EU will give Ukraine 18 June the first tranche of 55 million euros from the relief fund to support small and medium-sized businesses.
As the press service of the European Commission will sign a memorandum on this in Kiev, European Commissioner for negotiations on Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn, during his visit to Kiev on June 18-19.
“The EU intends to grant Ukraine a means to attract the financing of small and medium-sized businesses up to 1 billion euros,” – said Khan.
Fund to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova in the amount of EUR 200 million was established by the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on 21 May this year.
The European Commission intends to use the money as a guarantee fund to attract commercial investment in the amount of 3.2 billion euros over 10 years for the three countries to facilitate their small business switching to a free trade regime with the EU.
Of this money, 1 billion for the period up to 2025 can get Ukraine.
