The European Union continued year lifetime of the project on improving food safety control in Ukraine, which started June 4, 2014.Completion was scheduled for December 15 this year, but it was extended due to the fact that the EU has allocated additional funds. The project continued for 12 months. The main goal of this project is to bring Ukrainian legislation, infrastructure and state control in line with European standards. Attending the conference, Head of Sector “Agriculture” the EU Delegation to Ukraine Christian Ben Hull noted that an important component of this project is to create high-quality Ukrainian translation of European standards, guidelines and explanatory acts to be explained to the public and public authorities in which should move towards Ukrainian business to improve the quality of domestic food. He added that the project aims not only to increase Ukrainian exports to the EU, as the domestic market. “Proper regulation applies to the national market. This includes consumer confidence to food safety. It is not just about exports, but also on the national market and its security “- said Hull.
