The European Parliament has extended trade preferences for Ukraine for 2015

European Union managed to avoid a possible interruption of preferential trade regime with Ukraine.
October 20, the European Parliament’s International Trade at the second attempt agreed extension of trade preferences for Ukraine for 2015.
According to the information, also agreed about the date of the Ukrainian question in the session hall of the EP. Trade preferences for Ukraine will be finalized by October 21 – the last day of the current week in the European Parliament plenary.
Thus, the EU was able to avoid a possible interruption of preferential trade regime with Ukraine.
As previously reported, the European Parliament will have to confirm a tripartite agreement between Ukraine, Russia and the EU to postpone the start of the EU-Ukraine FTA until 2016. To do this, the EU should adopt unilateral preferential trade regime with Ukraine in 2014-2015.
This procedure must be completed before November 1, or preferential treatment is interrupted. The current plenary week the EU – the last in this period.
