The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will give Ukraine 215 million dollars on health care reform.
Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on February 12 signed an agreement on the allocation of $ 215 million on health care reform.
Agreement between Ukraine and the IBRD signed the Minister of Health Alexander Kvitashvili and the Head of the IBRD for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Paolo Belli.
Reportedly, Alexander Kvitashvili signed document pursuant to the order of President of Ukraine «On the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the negotiations with the World Bank concerning the conclusion of the loan agreement».
According to the minister, attracted loan will speed up the process of reforming the Ukrainian medicine.
Implementation of the project «Improving the health of people in the service» will contribute to the development of health infrastructure and improve the quality of medical services in 8 regions of Ukraine.
In particular, we are talking about investments aimed at introducing new financial mechanism in the medical field, prevention, early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, improving primary health care services, bringing the normative-legal acts in line with the best international standards.
Implementation of the project will last for five years and has funding of 261 million of which about 215 million dollars provided by IBRD.
The agreement defines the performance indicators of the project, the procedure of financial monitoring, audit standards and deadlines, measures related to environmental and social risks.
Ratification of the agreement Directorate IBRD tentatively scheduled for March 4.
