The largest state enterprises showed profit in 2016
Minister of Economic Development spoke about the success of hundreds of major state enterprises
According to the preliminary results of the first six months of 2016, the top 100 state companies showed a profit of UAH 31 billion (in contrast to the loss of UAH 53.2 billion in 2015), the Minister of Economic Development of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said. According to him, positive financial results are the reforms of state-owned enterprises.
Kubiv also recalled that in 2016 the corporate governance reform was started by state-owned enterprises.
The MEDT conducts an inventory of all SOEs to determine which state enterprises are of strategic importance, which ones can be privatized, and which ones can be liquidated.
Earlier, Deputy Economic Development Minister Yulia Kovalyv said that as a result of the inventory, 300 previously unrecorded enterprises were identified, bringing the total number of SOEs to 3.8 thousand.
