The Ukrainian government has invited American business to participate in the privatization of state enterprises in Ukraine.
During the first American-Ukrainian Business Forum which takes place today (July 13) in Washington, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk named four key areas of development of the Ukrainian-American investment cooperation.
Premier invited American business to invest in agriculture, energy, infrastructure and Ukraine to participate in major projects of privatization of state enterprises.
“To support the public sector, we need a very strong and modern private sector,” – said Yatsenyuk, addressing the participants of the conference. “We need your experience, your technology, your experts in the field, which can support the Ukrainian economy to make it more attractive. That can make Ukrainian companies more competitive. Which can create jobs. We as the government are interested in getting more revenue in budget, and you are a business interested in getting more profit. Because our interests coincide, and we definitely will be able to achieve success, “- he added.
In this connection, Yatseniuk said that this week the Parliament of Ukraine intends to take a number of important bills concerning the economic reforms. Among the key tasks in this direction, he called the need to initiate a large-scale privatization of state enterprises. “The government has already adopted a series of resolutions that opened the process of privatization of power companies” – said the Prime Minister.
