Ukraine is reforming forestry on the European model.
The State Forestry Agency of Ukraine with the participation of international experts meeting was held within the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), “Consolidation of the forest policy in Ukraine.”
During of the meeting, an expert on the FAO Forestry Norbert Winkler stressed the importance of choosing the model of the unified state forest company, to be established on the basis of state forest enterprises.
In turn, Bernd Vippel consultant firm UNIQUE (Germany), presented the results of the economic analysis of enterprises Goslesagentstvo Ukraine and outlined the recommendations and suggestions concerning the functions and the status of components in the structure of the forest.
Director of the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia Ardvids Ozols focused on the core functions of the state in the forest sector, corporate strategy, the Development Fund of the forest, the profitability of units and low level of fixed costs.
Also, a presentation of the institutional framework of forestry in Poland held the Head of the international department of the state forests of Poland Martha Gavorska. According to her, the Polish Forest Foundation is financially independent and implement a clearly defined strategy for state-owned forests, and that, in particular, balance, availability of forests to society, contribute to the economic development of the country.
