Ukraine on the results of the metallurgical enterprises in May 2016 increased its steel production by 5.7% compared to May 2015 – up to 2.297 million tons, maintaining the 10th place in the ranking of 66 countries of the world’s major manufacturers of these products, compiled by the World Association of Manufacturers steel (Worldsteel).
The growth of steel production in May was recorded in most of the top ten, except Japan, the US, South Korea and Brazil.
The top ten producing countries have become the end of May as follows: China (70,504,000 tons, a 1.8% increase), Japan (8.841 million tons, a drop of 0.9%), India (8.044 million tons, an increase of 4 9%), USA (6,820 million tonnes, a drop of 0.4%), Russia (5.952 million tons, a 0.4% increase), South Korea (5.807 million tons, a drop of 3.5%), Germany ( 3.858 million tons, a 4% increase), Turkey (3.041 million tons, an increase of 5.4%), Brazil (2,590 million tonnes, a drop of 13.2%) and Ukraine (2.297 million tons, an increase of 5.7% ).
In general, in May 2016, 66 countries have produced 139.154 million tons of steel, which is 0.1% lower than in May 2015.
In January-May 2016 in the top 10 were: China (329.950 million tons, a drop of 1.4%), Japan (43.180 million tonnes, a 2% drop), India (38.599 million tons, an increase of 2.4 %), the USA (33.072 million tonnes, a drop of 0.2%), Russia (29.159 million tonnes, a drop of 2.8%), South Korea (27.891 million tonnes, a drop of 2.7%), Germany (18.195 million tons, a 1% drop), Turkey (13.624 million tons, an increase of 3.4%), Brazil (12.326 million tonnes, a drop of 13.9%), Ukraine (10.612 million tons, 14.7% up).
In general, the first five months of this year, 66 countries have produced 658.227 million tons of steel, which is 2.2% less than in the first five months 2015.
As it was informed, following the results of 2015, the top 10 were: China (803.830 million tonnes, a 2.3% drop), Japan (105.152 million tonnes, a drop of 5%), India (89.582 million tons, an increase of 2.6 %), the USA (78.916 million tonnes, a drop of 10.5%), Russia (71.114 million tonnes, a drop of 0.5%), South Korea (69.673 million tonnes, a drop of 2.6%), Germany (42.678 million tons, a drop of 0.6%), Brazil (33.245 million tonnes, a drop of 1.9%), Turkey (31.517 million tonnes, a drop of 7.4%) and Ukraine (22.933 million tonnes, a drop of 15.6% ).
As a whole for 2015, 66 countries have made 1 billion 599 484 000 tons of steel, which is 2.9% less than in 2014.
