Ukraine and Turkey are planning to increase turnover in the category of agricultural products in the coming years in view of the forthcoming agreement on free trade zone.
“I hope that our trade volumes will increase in the near future in two times,” – he said during the Ukrainian-Turkish agricultural business forum, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Mehmet Danish.
According to him, over the past 13 years, agricultural production in Turkey grew steadily. Now the export of agricultural products from the country of $ 17 billion and imports of agricultural products – $ 11 billion in Turkey delivers 1600 names agrotovarov in 192 countries around the world.
“Ukraine is the second country in terms of cooperation in the sphere of agriculture … negotiations on the FTA and run our trade relations will gain new impetus,” – said the representative of the Turkish authorities.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva at the forum said that Ukraine and Turkey trade in agro-industrial complex is about $ 1 billion in 2015, for 10 months of 2016 – $ 700 million.
“Turkey is the seventh largest importer of Ukrainian agricultural products, and the third place among countries exporting agricultural products to Ukraine after Germany and Poland”, – she said during his speech.
In her view, cooperation between the two countries should be not only on the agrarian products trade level, but also at the level of exchange of experiences possible, co-financing in engineering projects, irrigation, aquaculture seed.
