USA can lay in budget for financial assistance to Ukraine in 2017.
The draft defense budget for 2017 fiscal year the US Senate proposes to allocate up to $500 million in assistance to Ukraine, including lethal weapons.
Senator McCain said that on May 12 his committee supported the bill providing for the allocation of $ 602 billion to finance the needs of the Ministry of Defence and the financing of the national security programs of the Department of Energy.
In its defense budget draft senators stressed that strong allies and partners are vital to US national security.
In this regard, under the provisions of the bill, “it is permitted to allocate up to $ 500 million to support Ukraine in the field of security, including helping to lethal means.”
At the same time noted that the bill limited the allocation of Ukraine of the funds, that is, it can only get half – $ 250 million – and the rest will receive only after the US Secretary of Defense personally attest that Ukraine has taken substantial measures to institutional reforms in the defense system in the fight against corruption, in enhancing the accountability and support of military capabilities, achieved with the assistance provided in the field of security
Earlier, it was reported that the US plans to give Ukraine $ 150 million for security in 2017.
