USA will to consider increasing financial assistance to Ukraine.
USA gave a signal about its will to increase financial assistance for Ukraine on the eve of the vote in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on approval of the agreement on the restructuring of the external debt of Ukraine.
Now the government demonstrates the confidence that it will receive the necessary support for the agreement in parliament.
The agreement on the restructuring of the external debt of Ukraine, which was concluded in August after several months of negotiations, must be approved by the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday – it is a critical element of the four-year aid plan for Ukraine in the amount of $ 40 billion, is designed to reduce the budget deficit in Ukraine caused by the economic crisis and the armed conflict in the east.
The Government of Ukraine for several months insists on the need for more assistance from the international community in connection with military operations against the pro-Russian separatists in the east and the implementation of stringent economic reforms required by the IMF.
The US contribution to help Ukraine by that time amounted to two credit guarantee of $ 1 billion each, which were granted this year.
As previously reported in the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, another $ 1 billion under the guarantee of the US government plans to raise in November 2015.
Also before the end of 2015. The Ministry of Finance expects to attract from the European Commission – EUR 600 million in the fourth quarter; Japan- from the government of $ 300 million at the end of October; from the Government of Norway – NOK 200 million in October.
