EBRD raised 23.1 million euros for the development of wind plant “Karpatskaya”.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a key creditor of Ukraine, has attracted funding package of EUR 23.1 million for the project creating a wind plant “Karpatskaya” in Lviv region.
According to the EBRD in Ukraine plant “Karpatskaya” with installed capacity of 20.7 MW exploit six wind turbines.
“The package amounting to 23.1 million euros, organized by the Bank includes 8.6 million euros from the EBRD, 4 million – from the Clean Technology Fund, the first stage of credit in the amount of 5.5 million euros from the Investment Fund for countries developing and credit first stage of $ 5 million from the Environmental financial corporation Northern Europe – the EBRD said in a statement. – Support for the project is provided through the Loan Fund USELF Ukraine Sustainable Energy, which aims – to provide financing to local private companies willing to invest in small projects of renewable energy in Ukraine. Implementation USELF supported by technical cooperation funds provided by the Global Environment Facility, Sweden and Japan”.
Commenting on the decision, the Head of the EBRD Shevkin Adzhuner said that the project is very important for the region and the country.
“It shows how significant potential for renewable energy in Ukraine. In addition, it paves the way for such private investment across the country”, – quotes Adzhunera representation.
In the EBRD also noted that, starting this initiative in the field of sustainable energy, the Bank continues to promote renewable energy sources in Ukraine, which are becoming increasingly important for energy security.
