The European Commission presented a new package of measures worth 500 million euros to support farmers in difficult conditions on the market.
It said in a statement the European Commission.
After the entry into force of the new package of emergency aid to farmers from the EU as a whole will be more than one billion euros.
The package consists of three parts. For 150 million euros the European Commission will create a package of measures to encourage the reduction of dairy products around the Union. The EU will pay 350 million euro subsidy; Member States may supplement that amount own grant the same size.
The plan also includes a number of technical measures to increase flexibility, reduced cash flow and development of network security. This means, for example, transfer payments of agricultural subsidies to an earlier date, payment in advance, as well as grants for storing milk powder.
The greatest amount of subsidies will, most likely, Germany (58 million euros), followed by France (49.9 million euros). Grants are designed primarily for the dairy sector.
