Gold and currency reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine in July increased by 1% or $ 111 million to $ 10.375 billion.

This is stated in the message control.

The increase in reserves contributed surplus NBU interventions on the interbank market during this period. In particular, the regulator bought on the interbank market at this time $ 163 million, and the surplus of the purchase and sales of $ 89 million.

In addition, the positive impact on the dynamics of reserves had accumulated by the government $ 878 million, including $ 673 million – from the EU and the World Bank, as well as $ 205 million – from the placement of foreign currency government bonds.

At the same time, it paid $ 453 million to service the Eurobonds and other securities, as well as $ 219 million – the International Monetary Fund.

As previously reported, in June 2015 the National Bank’s gold and currency reserves increased by 3.5% to $ 10.264 billion and for 2014 decreased by 63.1% to $ 7,533 billion.

The Head of the NBU Valeriya Gontareva August 4 reported that predicts an increase in foreign exchange reserves by the end of 2015 to $ 18 billion.
