The growth of industrial production in the first half of the year will be 2%.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine forecasts growth of industrial production by 2% in the first half.
According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, in the first half of 2016 the growth of industrial production in Ukraine will be 2% (plus or minus 0.5%). This is stated in the Ministry reported.
The Ministry believes that the main factors that may have an impact on the dynamics of industrial production in the first half of the year will be a gradual improvement of the situation on world commodity markets, continued recovery of production in some industries, the improvement of the financial situation of enterprises, the gradual recovery in consumer and investment demand.
Ministry stressed that in February, the first time in 42 months the industry showed growth compared to the same month of the previous year (7.6% in February 2015). In January-February 2016 grew by 2.9% over the same period of 2015.
This result, as the Ministry was due to an additional calendar day (29 days in February 2016, compared with 28 days in February 2015), the intensification of industrial activity in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, the increase in prices on world commodity markets (particularly for iron ore and sunflower oil), improvement of the economic situation in trade-partner countries, the increase in domestic demand for investment products (volume growth in construction in February 2016 was 1.8%).
As reported, in February 2016, industrial production grew by 7.6% compared with February 2015 and by 8.2% – compared to January 2016.
In January-February 2016, industrial production increased by 2.9% compared with January-February 2015.
At the end of 2015, industrial production declined by 13.4% compared to 2014 year.
