Japan intends to invest in the energy sector of Ukraine $ 300 million.
Ukraine intends to enter into an investment agreement with Japan. Presumably the document will be signed by February 2015.
The decision to conclude the agreement with Ukraine on the promotion and protection of investments in the Japanese government Tuesday, February 3, 2015. It is expected that the total investment will reach $ 300 million.
Investment funds will be spent on the development of the Ukrainian economy in particular on the modernization of the energy sector. The main focus of Japanese investors will increase the efficiency of thermal power plants that run on coal.
It should be noted that in the autumn of last year, the head of the Japanese government Shinzo Abe officially declared during the UN General Assembly’s intention to provide Ukraine with financial support in the amount of 1.52 billion dollars.
