Since the beginning of 2016 Ukraine exported walnuts for $ 48 million.
Ukraine in January-September 2016 increased the supply of fruit on foreign markets by 38% compared to the same period last year – to 98 thousand tons, according to the analytical materials of association “Ukrsadprom”.
“According to official statistics, our country has put on foreign markets 98 tons of fruit as of October 1 of the current year, which is 38% more compared to the same period last year.” – said in a statement.
In this case, the association reported that most Ukraine exported processed fruits (raw, cooked or frozen), shipments of which in the reporting period amounted to about 31 thousand tons. Exports of melons and watermelons in 9 months of 2016 amounted to 21 thousand tons of walnuts – 26 thousand tons of apples – 10 thousand tons.
According to the report, total revenue from the supply of products of the “Edible fruits and nuts” was $ 104 million. In this case the lion’s share of the income received from Ukrainian exporters of walnuts ($ 48 million.) and processed fruit and berries ($39 million).
Separately, the association noted the export of apples, the volume of which the first 9 months of this year already twice as high as the figure for the full year 2015.
