The rise in prices is due to seasonal demand growth, insignificant pressure on the foreign exchange market and rising volatility of prices on world commodity markets, report to the Ministry of Economic Development.
“The risk of inflation in the coming months will be worsening expectations of the society, as well as the growing role of inflation costs associated with rising energy prices”. This will force commodity producers to lay this risk in the final price of goods, “the ministry said.
As reported, in November, inflation slowed to 12.1% compared with 12.4% in the previous month. Annual inflation slowed due to lower prices for raw food. At the same time, the National Bank continues to keep the inflation forecast at the end of the year at the level of 12%, and in 2017 expect inflation to fall to the level of 8%.
International rating agencies forecast the inflation rate in Ukraine at the end of 2016 at 14%, in 2017-2018 – at a level of 8-9.5%.
