The share of Asia in importing flour from Ukraine has increased in comparison with indicators of 2013/14 years.
At the end of 2014/15 marketing year Ukraine exported 257.5 thousand tons of wheat flour, which was an absolute record for Ukrainian flour market. However, about 41% of deliveries were carried out in the countries of East Asia. In general, three countries – China, North Korea and South Korea – have bought 40% of Ukrainian flour exported last season.
The share of Asia in importing flour from Ukraine has increased in comparison with indicators of the 2013/14 marketing year when these regions were delivered 28% of total exports for the season, or 42.9 tons in absolute terms, against 105.9 thousand tons in 2014/15 marketing year.
The East Asian market is promising for Ukrainian grain mill products and actively explore the domestic millers and traders. Thus, in the 2014/15 marketing year, exports of these products to China increased by 2.2 times in comparison with the index of 2013/14 marketing year (61.6 thousand tons against 28.4 thousand tons), in North Korea – 3.2 times (36.8 thousand tons against 11.4 thousand tons) and South Korea – 30 times (4 thousand tons compared to 0.1 tons).
