The World Bank expect at $ 215 million for the development of Ukrainian medicine.
The Board of Directors of the World Bank on March 4 approved the granting Ukraine a loan in the amount of $ 214.73 million for the implementation of the project «Improving the health of the service of the people». It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. The project will be implemented over five years at the central and local levels.
The loan will be for 18 years with five-year grace period at a variable interest rate (now – less than 1% per annum).
The World Bank granted Ukraine the opportunity to carry out the conversion of the loan interest rate and currency which will allow Ukraine to minimize the cost of servicing the loan.
The loan is aimed at improving the quality of health services, with special emphasis on primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and cancer and improving the efficiency of the health system.
The World Bank will include substantial budgetary support for reform and a number of investment projects that will help improve the delivery of services in such important areas as health and infrastructure.
