Immediately after the entry into force of the agreement Canada will open the Ukrainian exporters free access to 98% of its goods market.
Ukraine and Canada on July 14 signed a document on the completion of negotiations on a free trade area (FTA). This is stated in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
On behalf of the Government of Ukraine signed the document Trade Representative Ukraine Natalia Mykolskaya, on behalf of the Government of Canada – the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada – Director of Market Access Marvin Hildebrand.
“It must deepen Ukrainian-Canadian partnership to increase our bilateral investment. This is another step towards making our country prosperous, “- he said after the signing of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The provisions of the draft agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Canada provide, in particular, the deepening of trade and economic cooperation, including in relation to trade in industrial and agricultural goods, intellectual property protection, regulation of public procurement.
Immediately after the entry into force of the agreement, Canada will open the Ukrainian exporters free access to 98% of its goods market. In the long term business agreement will be an opportunity to diversify trade flows, will give an impetus to the modernization of the Ukrainian enterprises to produce goods with high added value for export to Canada.
