Ukraine and Japan have ratified (in the form of an exchange of notes) loan agreement on the second loan for development policy in the implementation of economic reforms in the amount of about $ 300 million, said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalia Yaresko.

“In April we hope to receive loan funds in one tranche, which will be directed to the general fund of the state budget”, – she said at a joint with the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Shigeki Sumi press conference.

The Minister specified that the loan is provided through the Japan International Cooperation Agency for 20 years with a grace period of 6 years, and the interest rate on it will be Libor + 0,5%, which is now less than 1% per annum.

The funds will be directed to the general fund budget.

Yaresko noted that for these means Ukraine has fulfilled 10 conditions on structural reforms.

The total amount of financial assistance to Ukraine from Japan was $ 1.8 billion.
As earlier reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law providing for the ratification of an agreement with Japan on a loan of $ 300 million.
