Ukraine’s international reserves rose to $ 10 billion.
The volume of international reserves in Ukraine in May increased by $ 287 million or 3% to 9.918 billion. This is stated in a press release of the National Bank of Ukraine.
According to the report, the reserves increased due to the purchase of the National Bank of $ 169 million on the market. From the beginning, the amount of net purchases of foreign currency amounted to $ 717 million.
NBU also said that in May, the government placed government bonds issued under the guarantee of US $ 1 billion. At the same time, payments on public and publicly guaranteed debt in foreign currency amounted to $ 758 million.
The regulator notes that the situation in the foreign exchange market in May showed signs of improvement: the average daily volume of compulsory sales rose to $ 132 million from $ 119 million in April, with an increase in the average daily volume of the free sale of up to $ 40-60 million, while the volume of demand has stabilized in the range of $ 140-160 million .
