Ukrainian companies will help enter the Canadian market.
Canada will send 13.5 million Canadian dollars for a project to support Ukrainian manufacturers, whose products can be successful.
The research organization “Sonference Board of Canada” on the money the Government of Canada is beginning a project “Canada-Ukraine Trade and Investments Support” (CUTIS) to support Ukrainian companies ready to deliver their products to the Canadian market.
The project will last for five years, the volume of funding provided at the level of 13.5 million Canadian dollars. As the executive director of international projects for the organization Paul Darby, the project task – to find on producing goods with added value market of Ukraine a small or medium-sized businesses, for which there is demand in the Canadian market.
Now the project is at the start, at the stage of investigation of the Canadian market. When the study is finished, it is determined on what products will focus the project and start the selection of specific producers of such goods in Ukraine.
“We need to understand where these products are produced, because we work with regional companies and to involve local organizations and chambers of commerce for training”, – says Paul Darby.
In addition, the project will provide technical assistance to small and medium-sized businesses, for example, on the Canadian requirements for packaging, logistics products to the Canadian market, compliance of Ukrainian goods to the technical standards of Canada, etc.
The first phase of market research and gathered information processing will last about a year. After that, work will begin with the Ukrainian business.
The project is funded by the Government of Canada, but part of the cost themselves will have to take the private sector. The project company will travel to Canada on trade shows and b2b events. This payment of the expenses related to travel, have to take, but what specific share will need to take is unknown.
