The volume of cash in circulation increased by 1% in May.
Since the beginning of 2016 the volume of cash in circulation decreased by 0.3%
The volume of cash in circulation in May increased by 1% – to UAH 279.081 billion to UAH 281.793 billion. This was announced by the National Bank.
Since the beginning of the year (January-May), the volume of cash in circulation decreased by 0.3% – to UAH 282.673 billion to UAH 281.793 billion.
The money supply, which includes cash outside banks, deposits included in M3, as well as securities (other than shares) included in the M3 aggregate increased by 0.5% in May – 1 016 039 000 000 UAH to 1 020 677 000 000 UAH. Since the beginning of 2016 the money supply increased by 2.7% – to 994.062 billion UAH to 1 020 677 000 000 UAH.
The monetary base comprises cash outside banks and banks reserve money increased by 0.5% in May – to UAH 335.871 billion to UAH 337.402 billion. Since the beginning of the year the monetary base increased by 0.4% – from 336 billion USD to UAH 337.402 billion.
The amount of debt on refinancing loans issued by the National Bank, reduced by 4%, in May – up to 88.411 billion USD. Since the beginning of the year the volume of such debt decreased by 16.5% – to UAH 105.848 billion to UAH 88.411 billion.
The amount of funds in the National Bank certificates of deposit decreased by 8.7% in May – up to 57.321 billion USD. Since the beginning of the year this index decreased by 36.2% – to UAH 89.845 billion to 57.321 billion USD.
Since the beginning of the year (January-May), the National Bank attracted bank funds totaling 1 370 343 000 000 UAH, which is 32% more than in the same period of 2015.
As reported, in April, the volume of cash in circulation increased by 3.8% and in January-April fell by 1% – up to 279.758 billion UAH.
Money supply increased by 0.9% in April (from the beginning of the year – by 2.3%) – to UAH 1.016 trillion.
The volume of the monetary base increased by 2.6% in April (from the beginning of the year decreased by 0.03%) – up to 335.891 billion UAH.
